Harvey Earns AIUC-1 Certification — Sets New Governance Bar for Enterprise Procurement

Harvey became the first legal AI company certified against the AIUC-1 standard on August 4 — a third-party audit framework covering AI agent security, safety, reliability, data privacy, accountability, and societal impact. Auditor Schellman ran 3,000+ tests, reporting zero critical failures. For COOs and IT directors at mid-sized firms with Harvey in procurement or pilot, AIUC-1 certification provides a structured, third-party-verified basis for satisfying governance committee and CISO approval requirements. The certification is not yet a procurement requirement at most firms, but it represents the kind of independently verifiable security posture that the Legal Stack report identifies as a decisive factor when security review is the most common cause of pilot failure.
