Harvey Mid-Market Pricing Remains 10x Higher Per Seat Than Am Law 100 — Alternatives Targeting the Gap

BY INSIDE PRACTICE · AUGUST 25, 2026 · 1 MIN READ

Industry reporting consolidated by Inside Legal AI puts Harvey AI's pricing for mid-market firms (typically 30–100 seat deployments) at $1,000–$2,000 per seat per month — a 40-lawyer firm licensing 30 seats pays $360,000–$540,000 annually before implementation. Am Law 100 firms reportedly pay closer to $100–$200 per seat through volume agreements, creating a 10x structural pricing gap that mid-sized firms cannot close through negotiation. CoCounsel and Spellbook now explicitly target this gap: CoCounsel bundles with Westlaw at $40–$65 per user per month as a standalone, while Spellbook operates at approximately $25–$50 per user per month for contract drafting. The Harvey II launch (August 18) adds a proprietary model and persistent matter memory, features that deepen its enterprise value proposition — but for the mid-sized segment, the pricing gap means the competitive question is not whether Harvey is better but whether the value delivered at mid-market pricing justifies the cost relative to purpose-built mid-market alternatives.
