iManage brings permission-bound firm knowledge into ChatGPT Enterprise

On September 21, LawSites published iManage’s September 17 announcement of a ChatGPT Enterprise plugin that lets authorized users search, review, organize and save content while retaining existing permissions, ethical walls, audit trails and document versions. The integration uses iManage Context Fabric to connect documents with matter and activity signals, and it can save new or revised work back to the appropriate workspace. For mid-sized firms already using iManage, this reduces the engineering required to connect a general AI environment to governed work product. Leaders should still pilot the complete read-and-write workflow, because permission enforcement, matter filing and version control are more consequential when users can act on documents from outside the native DMS interface.
