Harvey Uses Pro Bono Work to Develop Repeatable Legal-AI Workflows
Inside Practice · SEPTEMBER 29, 2026 · 1 MIN READ
On September 22, LawSites reported that Harvey launched a pro bono program with Ashurst, DLA Piper, Nelson Mullins and Perkins Coie as initial design partners in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. Harvey said it would provide legal-engineering support, develop custom agents for high-volume matters such as housing and veterans’ services, and measure capacity and outcome effects before broader direct-service pilots later in 2026. For mid-sized firms, the operating lesson is the use of a bounded, mission-critical practice area to co-design templates, knowledge resources and repeatable workflows rather than deploying a general assistant without ownership. The results remain to be demonstrated, so firms should treat the program as a testable implementation model rather than evidence of proven impact.
