Frontline buys KL Software and launches managed intelligent applications

On October 6, Frontline Managed Services announced its acquisition of KL Software Technologies, the maker of KLoBot, and the launch of Frontline Intelligent Applications combining advisory, professional and managed services with connected applications. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the claims about capability and integration come from Frontline’s announcement. For mid-sized firms without a large engineering team, the combination illustrates a widening buy-versus-build option: outsource configuration and ongoing operation while retaining internal ownership of workflow priorities, data policy and acceptance testing. Firms should examine exit provisions, portability of configurations and the allocation of responsibility when a managed provider operates across multiple underlying platforms.
