Ironclad couples new contract agents with pooled AI Credits

On October 8, Ironclad released new agent capabilities for precedent-based redlining, contract-family analysis, analytics and conversational intake, and said its Contract Review Agent is moving toward subscription-based AI Credits. Ironclad states that credits are pooled at the company level, with pay-as-you-go usage available after the pool is depleted, while existing seat-based contracts continue until their terms end. For mid-sized firms, the change makes pilot design a financial-control issue: teams need baseline volumes, per-workflow credit consumption and stop-loss thresholds before expanding access. Buyers should compare the effective cost per completed review or extracted obligation—not the nominal price per credit—and negotiate reporting sufficient to attribute consumption by matter and use case.
