Legora and iManage plan permission-aware MCP actions against governed content
Inside Practice · OCTOBER 20, 2026 · 1 MIN READ
On October 16, 2026, iManage and Legora announced plans to connect Legora with the iManage MCP Server, allowing mutual customers to retrieve governed knowledge and perform actions such as moving documents or updating document information. The planned connection retains iManage as the system of record and applies iManage permissions to what each user can retrieve. For mid-sized firms, this is a step from read-only retrieval toward agentic action, which raises the importance of transaction logging, rollback, metadata validation and separation of duties. Firms should treat production availability and the precise action scope as open diligence items because the announcement describes a planned connection rather than a completed deployment.
