Legora and Laurel connect AI activity to time capture and future ROI measures

On October 13, 2026, Legora and Laurel announced that work completed in Legora will be converted into matter-attributed time entries for lawyer review, followed by a planned second phase to develop joint measures of AI usage and value. The first phase targets missed time and the administrative cost of reconstructing narratives, while the second is intended to give firms a clearer record of what work is performed through AI. For mid-sized firms, this is a useful bridge between adoption metrics and financial management, but recorded activity is not the same as time saved or client value created. ROI reporting should therefore include review and rework, fee arrangement, realization and outcome measures rather than treating captured time as the sole benefit.
