FRB Releases Open-Source AI Policy Templates to Public Domain

Falcon Rappaport & Berkman's decision to release its internal GenAI policy framework on GitHub (June 24) removes the most common excuse mid-sized firms give for inaction: that drafting a compliant policy requires too much time or outside expertise. The templates — one for law firms, one for businesses — cover the full operational surface: approved tools, mandatory output verification, confidentiality and data security, AI notetakers, agentic AI, employment-decision constraints, and enforcement. The package also includes an AI "skill" that interviews adopters and assembles a customized draft, which meaningfully lowers the implementation barrier for firms without dedicated legal technology staff. Alignment with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework gives the templates defensibility in regulatory or liability contexts. For managing partners who have been waiting for a credible starting point, this is a concrete action item this week.
