More than 50 general counsel back a buyer-led legal-tech fund

On September 8, Reuters reported that GCVC launched with investments from more than 50 general counsel and Wilson Sonsini to fund early-stage legal, regulatory and compliance technology companies. GCVC had already invested in Sandstone and Stilta, but did not disclose the fund size or individual investment amounts. For law-firm client teams, the structure gives sophisticated buyers a more direct role in shaping the tools and workflows that may later appear in panel requirements, matter instructions and collaboration expectations. Firms should track the portfolio as a source of emerging client priorities and potential integration requests, while keeping investment advocacy separate from objective procurement and conflict review.
