Harvey’s $550 million round increases platform concentration risk

On September 9, Reuters reported that Harvey raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation and acquired agent-security company Guardrails AI, its fourth acquisition of 2026; the acquisition terms were not disclosed. Harvey said it was used by 80% of the 100 highest-grossing US law firms, a company-supplied figure that was not independently verified in the report. For in-house teams, a supplier’s rapid expansion can improve integration and security capacity while also increasing dependency on a single platform across research, workflow and collaboration. Law-firm relationship teams should therefore be ready to explain model and data boundaries, portability, business-continuity provisions and how client-specific controls survive vendor acquisitions or product changes.
