Orrick links technology and finance leadership to differentiated client value
Inside Practice · SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 · 1 MIN READ
On September 15, Reuters reported that Orrick hired Padma Elmgart as chief technology officer and Chris Davis as chief financial officer as the firm increases its focus on AI-enabled operations. Davis began on September 14, while Elmgart is due to start on September 21 with a remit that includes using technology, data and AI to create differentiated client value. For BD teams, placing technology and finance leadership near the client-value agenda creates an opening to connect experience data, delivery cost and relationship outcomes in one operating model. The test will be whether the new structure produces client-facing metrics and repeatable service changes rather than a general innovation narrative.
