On September 22, The Times reported Law Society figures showing UK legal-services exports reached nearly £11 billion in 2025, 60% above their 2021 level. The EU and United States accounted for roughly two-thirds of the total, including £3.67 billion and £3.2 billion respectively, while London maritime arbitration handled 2,015 new cases, its highest count since 2014. For law firm BD teams, the figures support treating English-law capability and cross-border dispute infrastructure as identifiable demand assets rather than general brand claims. Firms should map which clients, sectors and jurisdictions generated the growth before using the headline totals to guide hiring or campaign investment.
