Legal Decoder launched Aperture on July 27, 2026 — a natural language interface enabling legal professionals to analyze billing and legal spend data conversationally, backed by the company's existing analytics platform and 45 proprietary analytical flags applied to tens of billions of dollars in prior legal fees. In-house legal departments use it to gain insight into billing practices, staffing, workflow efficiency, and matter management without relying solely on UTBMS codes; law firms use it to benchmark performance, demonstrate value to clients with data-driven metrics, and develop pricing strategies based on historical matter data. Client-identifying information is tokenized before LLM processing, with session-specific tokens preventing cross-session data leakage. For BD teams, Aperture represents a new class of tool: outside counsel can now demonstrate value to clients proactively, in natural language, with auditable analytics — rather than waiting for the client's outside counsel management team to flag concerns during a panel review.
