EC Code of Practice on AI-Generated Content Addresses Article 50 Compliance Path

The European Commission published its Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content on July 31, 2026 — two days before Article 50 became enforceable — providing a voluntary adherence framework to help providers and deployers demonstrate compliance with the mandatory transparency obligations. Adherence to the Code does not substitute for compliance with Article 50's binding requirements, but it does provide a documented conformity pathway that is likely to carry weight in enforcement proceedings.
