Harvey’s $550 million round increases platform concentration

On September 9, LawSites reported that Harvey raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation, taking its cumulative funding since 2022 above an estimated $1.5 billion. Harvey said the capital would support hiring, compute, specialized legal products and further model training; its claims of $400 million in annual recurring revenue and more than 3,000 customers are company-supplied. For law firms and legal departments, the scale of investment increases the prospect that a small group of vendors will control more of the legal-AI stack, from models and benchmarks to workflow and distribution. Procurement should therefore test portability, data-export, continuity and pricing protections alongside current feature performance.
