Sullivan & Cromwell adds four partners to build private-equity revenue

On September 15, Sullivan & Cromwell announced that it would add four private-equity M&A partners—Hamed Meshki, Luke Guerra, Guirgis Nasief and Y. Michael Chung—with Meshki leading the practice. The firm said the group has nearly six decades of combined experience and has led hundreds of transactions, framing the hires as an expansion of its U.S. and global sponsor platform. The economic bet is a practice-level shift: partner compensation and team build-out are being committed in expectation that sponsor relationships will generate repeat M&A, financing, tax and portfolio-company work. Because the scale and performance claims come from the firm, leaders should watch subsequent client wins, cross-practice utilization and profitable revenue rather than partner count alone.
