Newcode Raises $13.5M Series A to Build the Configurable AI Harness for Law Firms

Norway-based Newcode announced on August 24, 2026 a $13.5 million Series A led by OnDean Forward — the investment vehicle of Relativity founder Andrew Sieja — with participation from The LegalTech Fund, Relativity's investment arm Rel Labs, and Antiportfolio Ventures, bringing total funding to $20 million. Newcode describes itself as a "configurable AI harness" that enables law firms to build their own agents and multi-step workflows around firm-owned data, rather than deploying vendor-managed models. The platform's suite includes an Agentic AI Builder, Matrix Review, Specialized AI Assistant, Team Collaboration tools, and a Word Add-in. Sieja's involvement is strategically significant — it connects Newcode to the eDiscovery infrastructure world (Relativity) at a moment when document-intensive agentic workflows are the leading production use case. The US expansion funded by this round positions Newcode directly against Harvey and Legora in the firm-owned AI infrastructure market.
