The financing gives Harvey more capacity to combine legal workflow, distribution and security rather than rely on a narrow assistant product

On September 9, Reuters reported that Harvey raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation and acquired agent-security platform Guardrails AI, its fourth acquisition of 2026; financial terms for the acquisition were not disclosed. The financing gives Harvey more capacity to combine legal workflow, distribution and security rather than rely on a narrow assistant product. For legal service innovators, that concentration raises the importance of architecture, portability and exit provisions when selecting a platform whose boundaries may expand quickly. Harvey’s statement that it is used by 80% of the 100 highest-grossing US firms is company-supplied, but the funding and acquisition still show how capital is consolidating around providers that can control more of the delivery stack.
