On September 8, Lone Star Legal Aid published a fall update on Juris, its internal research assistant; LSLAsks, its internal administrative assistant; and NAVI, a public-facing legal-navigation tool still being prepared for release. Juris and LSLAsks entered internal use in spring 2026, while the new update describes feedback loops, attorney-vetted content and partnerships supporting continued deployment. LSLA also said it chose on-premises infrastructure to strengthen data control, reduce dependence on consumption pricing and sustain the initiative beyond its initial grant. The access-to-justice implication is that durable operating capacity—content maintenance, evaluation, staff training and infrastructure cost—may matter more than the initial chatbot build.
