Relativity claiR Extends Conversational AI Across the Full Matter Record

Relativity announced claiR on August 12 — a conversational AI interface that lets lawyers ask plain-language questions across an entire RelativityOne matter and receive cited answers drawn from the complete matter record, including documents, metadata, and connections among documents. Unlike its predecessor aiR Assist, which worked against indexed document sets within a workspace, claiR reasons across the full matter depth. It runs on data already stored in RelativityOne — nothing is exported or sampled. A&O Shearman, Foley & Lardner, and K&L Gates are in the Advanced Access program; general availability is expected in early 2027. For KM and litigation support professionals, claiR's design principle — AI grounded in the governed data environment rather than a separate AI layer — is the significant operational signal. Metadata quality, matter tagging, and document organization within RelativityOne will directly determine claiR's answer quality, making existing KM practices in e-discovery a live production dependency.
