iManage Announces October GA for Next-Generation Platform — Positions Firm Knowledge as AI Infrastructure

iManage announced August 24 that its next-generation platform will be generally available in October 2026, following a successful early access program with law firms, corporate legal departments, and financial institutions. The platform reframes the DMS from a storage and retrieval system into what the company calls a "context fabric" — connecting documents, email, matters, people, and external business-system data as a governed foundation for AI. Playbook-based review, tabular review, and MCP read-and-write actions are available today; the full redesigned platform arrives in October. For KM leaders, the October GA date is a planning horizon: firms that have spent the past 12 months cleaning metadata, taxonomy, and matter structure are positioned to activate the AI-ready features immediately; firms that haven't will find that the platform's capabilities are limited by the quality of what's underneath them.
