iManage and Wordsmith AI announced a technology partnership on September 2, 2026, connecting Wordsmith's agentic document drafting and workflow automation directly to the iManage next-generation platform. The Wordsmith iManage connector enables agentic workflows to receive a request, find and open precedent documents from iManage, draft, check, route for approval, and file the completed document back into iManage — with no manual file movement between the two systems. Wordsmith also shipped enterprise controls enabling business units outside legal to run governed legal workflows while preserving the approval structure required by compliance. For KM professionals, the partnership represents the first commercially released example of a closed-loop agentic KM workflow: institutional knowledge stored in iManage is retrieved, reasoned over, and returned as new work product back into the same governed environment, without copying data out.
