NetDocuments says reusable context can halve the cost of a correct AI answer

On October 23, 2026, NetDocuments published a recap of its October 19–21 Inspire conference reporting that its Legal Context Engineering Benchmark cut the cost of each correct answer in half when the model, tool and questions were held constant and only the supplied context changed. The company estimated annual savings of nearly $1 million for an organization with 2,000 professionals, but the benchmark is vendor-produced and the recap does not provide an independently validated methodology. The operating implication for KM is still useful: context assembly should be treated as reusable infrastructure rather than repeated prompt-by-prompt work. Teams evaluating the claim should reproduce it with their own matters, permission structures and quality thresholds before using it in an investment case.
