Streamline AI — the in-house legal operating platform used by 1,000+ lawyers at companies including Gusto, 8x8, and Bloom Energy — launched two capabilities on July 15: the Streamline MCP Connector and the Streamline Slack Intake and Knowledge Agent. The MCP Connector extends trusted legal context from Streamline to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Glean — allowing employees in any of those tools to ask natural-language questions about legal matters, request status updates, approvals, and reporting, and get responses that are permission-aware, grounded in the latest information in Streamline, and routed in real time without storing or caching customer data. The Slack Intake Agent brings legal intake into Slack: employees describe what they need in natural language, the agent identifies the request type, captures relevant business context, requests any missing information, and creates a structured request inside Streamline — without requiring the employee to find the right intake form or switch applications. Every interaction is recorded in Streamline's audit trail; authentication runs through OAuth 2.1; existing permissions and governance enforce the same access controls as within Streamline. For KM professionals in in-house legal teams, the Streamline MCP launch addresses the most persistent failure of in-house legal KM — the knowledge the legal team holds is invisible and inaccessible to the business teams that need it. Making legal context available through the AI tools where business decisions are made (Copilot, ChatGPT, Glean) without rebuilding the intake and workflow system is the architectural shortcut that MCP makes possible.
