iManage ConnectLive 2026: MCP Server, AI Governance Controls, Agent Activity Monitoring

iManage announced three categories of platform updates at ConnectLive 2026: knowledge accessibility — iManage MCP Server (available for Insight+, enabling AI agents and LLMs to search permission-aware context from governed iManage knowledge), Multi-Region Search, and native OCR; AI governance — Security Policy Manager extending to client- and matter-level AI use restrictions, and Threat Manager surfacing AI agent activity in user activity reporting; and collaboration — Collaboration Links for secure external document sharing with governance and M365 co-authoring. iManage is also expanding its AI ecosystem through Anthropic's partner ecosystem and Claude store. The Threat Manager update is the most operationally significant for legal tech governance: it creates the audit trail infrastructure that legal departments and law firm risk committees have been demanding — a log of what AI agents did, when, and to which matter — without requiring firms to build that infrastructure themselves. For operators building on or competing with DMS platforms, agent activity monitoring is now a procurement expectation, not a differentiator.
