ILTACON 2026 Dominated by MCP — iManage, NetDocuments, Thomson Reuters All Announce Integrations

ILTACON 2026 (Nashville, August 23–27) produced its busiest product news cycle in recent memory, with MCP (Model Context Protocol) emerging as the de facto integration standard across the legal tech ecosystem. iManage announced October general availability of its next-generation platform — "bringing knowledge, context and intelligence together on a secure, governed foundation" — alongside a new integration with Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise for Legal. Thomson Reuters and iManage simultaneously announced an expanded strategic partnership extending integrations across CoCounsel Legal, HighQ, Noetica, and Legal Tracker with governed iManage knowledge via MCP. NetDocuments announced an expansion of its MCP ecosystem at ILTACON, with Google Gemini Enterprise joining Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Harvey, and Legora as connected frontier AI providers. LawNext's ILTACON Part 3 round-up (September 4) characterized the conference as confirmation that "context engineering, data quality, governance, agent orchestration and a growing focus on ROI" are now the shared vocabulary of the legal tech industry's platform layer.
