Harvey’s $550 million round and Guardrails acquisition reset the scale benchmark

On September 9, Reuters reported that Harvey raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation and acquired agent-security company Guardrails AI, its fourth acquisition of 2026; the acquisition price was not disclosed. The financing gives Harvey additional capacity to combine workflow, distribution and security instead of remaining a narrow assistant product. For founders and investors, the deal raises the capital and integration benchmark while increasing platform-dependency questions for buyers whose vendors are expanding across the stack. Harvey’s statement that it serves 80% of the 100 highest-grossing US law firms is company-supplied, but the funding and acquisition themselves show that governance capability is becoming part of platform consolidation.
