Lone Star Legal Aid chooses on-premises infrastructure for three AI tools

On September 8, Lone Star Legal Aid published a fall update on Juris, its internal research assistant; LSLAsks, its internal administrative assistant; and NAVI, a public-facing legal-navigation tool still being prepared for release. Juris and LSLAsks entered internal use in spring 2026, while the new update describes feedback loops, attorney-vetted content and partnerships supporting continued deployment. LSLA said it selected on-premises infrastructure to strengthen data control, reduce dependence on consumption pricing and sustain the initiative beyond its initial grant. For vendors serving public-interest organizations, the implication is that durable deployment may depend as much on content maintenance, training and predictable infrastructure cost as on model performance.
