Xapien raises $56 million to expand US due-diligence operations

On September 11, Legal IT Insider reported that automated due-diligence company Xapien raised $56 million in a round led by Spectrum Equity, with existing investor YFM Equity Partners participating. Xapien said about half its revenue now comes from the United States and that it plans to expand its Boston operation; it also reported 350 customers and partners across 15 countries. The round supports a scaling thesis built around repeatable risk research rather than general legal drafting, a category where data coverage and workflow integration can create stronger switching costs. The customer and geographic figures are company-supplied, so operators should distinguish financing validation from independent evidence of retention, margins or report quality.
