Matterbee makes practice management an active workflow system

On September 18, Legal IT Insider profiled Matterbee, a practice-management startup founded in 2024 that combines matters, documents, email, client records, workflows, time, billing, accounting and CRM on Salesforce and Microsoft Azure. The company said six firms had signed or entered active use, a seventh was in progress and one conveyancing implementation encoded roughly 90 workflow steps. The product thesis moves practice management from a system of record toward a system that directs work, a positioning that can support higher switching costs if execution data improves automation over time. The adoption counts and workflow claims come from a founder interview, so operators and investors should seek retention, implementation cost and production-cycle evidence before treating them as proof of repeatability.
