Filevine launched the Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS) Console on June 2, framing it as the first legal AI that moves from reading matters to actively working on them. The system is built on Filevine's structured legal matter graph, informed by more than 40 million legal matters across 6,000-plus firms accumulated over a decade. LOIS Console operates as a standalone experience, enabling any firm to begin using it regardless of where their existing data lives.

The strategic bet is that proprietary legal matter data — the structured graph — is a durable moat against general-purpose AI competitors. Where OpenAI or Anthropic can draft a contract, they cannot replicate the operational intelligence embedded in 40 million matters unless they acquire or partner their way in.
