iManage ConnectLive 2026: MCP Server, AI Governance Controls, Threat Manager for Agent Activity

iManage announced the next evolution of its platform at ConnectLive 2026 with three categories of updates: (1) knowledge accessibility — iManage MCP Server (available for Insight+, enabling AI agents and LLMs to search and surface permission-aware context from governed iManage knowledge in a permission-bound and auditable way); Multi-Region Search (global unified search across jurisdictions); native OCR (scanned documents made searchable to AI); (2) AI governance — Security Policy Manager evolving to support client- and matter-level AI use restrictions beyond existing ethical walls; iManage Threat Manager now surfaces AI agent activity in user activity reporting, giving security teams visibility into what agents are accessing, moving, and modifying; and (3) collaboration — Collaboration Links (secure external document sharing with governance and M365 co-authoring). iManage is also expanding its AI ecosystem through Anthropic's partner ecosystem and Claude store — Claude can access governed iManage knowledge through MCP Server. For legal tech operators building on or competing with DMS platforms: the iManage MCP Server is the structural interface that makes iManage knowledge available to any agent in the legal AI ecosystem. It is both a platform-stickiness mechanism (client knowledge stays in iManage, accessed by agents through MCP) and an openness signal — "AI freedom of choice" strategy means iManage is not trying to own the AI reasoning layer.
