June exposed where the money in legal AI actually is — and it is not where BigLaw thinks.
Plaintiff-focused companies account for about 71% of disclosed capital in legal AI, with EvenUp at $370M raised and Eve at $164M (Crunchbase News, 5 Jun). Investors have concluded the plaintiff side produces clean, attributable ROI.
That matters for this category: most listed AI-native firms are corporate and transactional, while the largest pool of AI-derived legal value in 2026 is being captured by platforms serving plaintiff firms. Meanwhile the index kept growing — by late June it tracked just over 50 AI-native law firms globally, 31 of them in the US (General Legal).

- Eve launched EveOS, an AI-native operating system for plaintiff firms spanning Eve Atlas, Eve Analyst, Communication Agents and Research (Inside Legal AI).

Leadership & GTM Moves
Three distinct GTM motions are now visible: enterprise vendors selling seats to hourly-billing firms, plaintiff-side vendors selling case throughput, and AI-native firms selling fixed or per-unit outcomes (Crunchbase; Spellbook). Managed-services players joined in, with LOD and Consilio partnering with Wordsmith to package AI into in-house support (Inside Legal AI).
Mainstream Firms Going AI-Native
Adoption is real but architecturally conservative outside a handful of leaders. Kirkland's Palantir build is the exception that proves the rule; most firms are standardising on one or two platforms while structural innovation in pricing and ownership happens outside the AmLaw 100 (Inside Legal AI; Dorna Moini).
